Assam passed the Cattle Protection Bill, 2021
The Assam Assembly has passed the Cattle ProtectionBill, 2021.
Its objective is to regulate the slaughter,
consumption and transportation of cattle in the state.
It prohibits the sale and purchase of beef in
non-beef-eating communities and areas falling within 5 km radius of a temple or
sastra (Vaishnava Math).
Nasal Vaccine Approved for Phase II and IIITrials
The first nasal COVID-19 vaccine developed by Bharat
Biotech has received regulatory approval for Phase II and III trials.
This is the first of its kind COVID-19 jab to undergo
human clinical trials in India.
The first phase I clinical trial has been completed in
the age groups of 18 to 60 years.
Studies found the vaccine to be safe, immunogenic and
tolerable.
Netflix joins hands with UNESCO
Netflix and UNESCO have come together to celebrate
India's rich cultural heritage through the streaming platform's popular
animated series "Mighty Little Bheema".
Netflix and UNESCO will present a series of short
videos on 'One Country, Incredible Diversity' focusing on India's cultural
journey, including monuments, rituals and festivals such as Diwali and Holi.
CAI slashes cotton crop forecast for 2020-21
The Cotton Association of India (CAI) in its July
estimate has estimated cotton crop for the year 2020-21 starting October by
1.50 lakh as compared to the previous month The bales have been reduced to
354.50 lakh bales.
The total
cotton production in 2019-20 (October 2019 - September 2020) was 360 lakh
bales.
CAI had earlier
estimated total supply of 482.61 lakh bales of cotton during October 2020 -
July 2021.
