Chhattisgarh government disbursed Rs 1,522 crore

The Chhattisgarh government has transferred an amount of Rs 1,522 crore to the bank accounts of at least 21 lakh farmers under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nay Yojana (RGKNY).

The objective of this scheme is to provide good returns to the farmers for their produce and to encourage production and crop diversification of Kharif crops.

It was launched in May 2020.

The first instalment of Rs 1,525.97 crore was released in May 2021.

Amitabh Bachchan becomes the voice of Alexa

Amazon launched the voice of Amitabh Bachchan as part of its efforts to delight existing users and attract new consumers to use its voice assistant on Google Assistant and Apple's Siri  Is .

 Along with the new launch, Amazon also brings its Celebrity Voice feature to India. 

The feature was launched in 2019 by American actor and producer Samuel L.  Came to America with Jackson's voice.

1 billion children at risk of climate impact

According to a new report by UNICEF, globally, nearly half of the 2.2 billion children are at serious risk due to climate change.

The most vulnerable countries are India, Nigeria, the Philippines and most of sub-Saharan Africa. 

This report is the first to combine high-resolution maps of environmental impacts with maps showing child vulnerabilities such as poverty, health care, and more.

China passed new online privacy law China

has passed a privacy law that aims to prevent businesses from collecting sensitive personal data.

Under the new rules passed, state and private entities handling personal information will be required to reduce data collection and obtain user consent.

This will prevent companies from setting different prices for the same service based on customers' purchase history.

First ever approval for COVID antibody treatment

​​A UK drug regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), has approved the use of artificial antibodies to prevent COVID-19.

Ronaprav may be able to protect people from coronavirus infection and may also be able to treat patients who are suffering from acute symptoms of coronavirus.

It may also reduce the chances of hospitalization.

Rising Star Fund to be launched by Finance Minister

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch an ambitious 'Rising Star Fund' for export-oriented firms and startups on 21 August 2021.

The fund has been set up by Exim Bank and SIDBI. 

It will be launched in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The fund is expected to identify Indian enterprises with potential benefits through technology, products or processes.

Government launched Karkhandar Scheme

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has unveiled the Karkhandar scheme for artisans and weavers.

The scheme will be implemented by the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms Kashmir/Jammu in the entire Union Territory. 

Under the scheme, meritorious trainees will be given honorarium of Rs 2,000 per month and trainer will get Rs 2,000 per month for each trainee and Rs 25,000 for logistics, raw material etc.

BPCL launches AI-enabled chatbot Urja

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched Urja.

It is a virtual assistant with AI / NLP (Artificial Intelligence / Natural Language Processing) capabilities and trained in more than 600 use cases.

With an aim to make BPCL's customer interface comprehensive and digitally integrated, Urja is now available on the company's website for any queries.

Erosion of one-third of India's coastline

Between 1990 and 2018, 32% of India's coastline was eroded and 27% expanded. 

This information has been given in the recent technical report of the National Center for Coastal Research (NCCR) under the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences.

The West Bengal coastline has been particularly vulnerable, with 60 per cent of the coastline being eroded during this period.

BMP- |  To be included in “Atal Pragati-Marg”

The Ministry of National Highways and Road Transport has approved the inclusion of the ambitious Atal Pragati-Marg project of Madhya Pradesh in Bharat Mala Phase-I (BMP-I).

Under this, industrial corridor will be constructed around Gwalior-Chambal 404 km long expressway. 

It will pass through Bhind and Sheopur districts of Chambal, connecting Jhansi in the east and Kota in the west.
